Information servicesInformation services provide support for treatment work and prevent alcohol and addiction problems by disseminating information and by prevention activities. In addition to internal communication and co-operation with the media, the methods include national and European prevention projects, such as Encare and Prevnet, often combined with services on the web or with mobile solutions. Publications The Foundation publishes the Finnish-language professional journal Tiimi, as well as books, reports and brochures, both in printed form and in the Internet. Many projects publish booklets and educational materials of their own. Internet and portable services The Addiction Link web site (www.paihdelinkki.fi) and the Promille SMS service are aimed at the general public. They reach new clients and are important in lowering the threshold of seeking help. Power Circle SMS service employs peer group support to reduce drinking. Information techniques developed in prevention work have been distributed into the health care system to promote the use of mini intervention. Issues of mental health, domestic violence and child welfare are handled in information co-operation with other NGOs (www.apua.info) and national organizations. Many solutions have been developed within the Prevnet EU network.. |
